Humphree unveils a three-part stabilisation solution with superyacht-ready systems to come
Swedish firm Humphree, known for interceptors and stabilisation fins, has introduced its first-ever gyroscopic stabiliser, the HIG5, as part of its product line. In conjunction, the company has also introduced a new three-component stabilisation platform that combines interceptors, fins, and gyroscopes. The service and product offering was unveiled at the Cannes show with an appeal to smaller motor yachts. A company spokesperson has confirmed that Humphree plans to upsize the system and make it available to superyachts next year. The company said it was the first time that a gyro, interceptors, and fins are “combined in one single, fully synchronised platform.”
By combining all elements of stabilisation into an integrated control system that continuously analyses a vessel’s motions, Humphree expects to increase stabilisation across all speed ranges. The addition of the gyro creates a more complete and optimised solution, enhancing comfort and performance in a wide variety of sea conditions and operating scenarios. Roll, pitch, and yaw are controlled by one system.

“The marine industry has traditionally viewed stabilisation technologies as separate components that are selected and managed independently,” said Humphree CEO Björn Säljö. “By integrating gyros, fins, and interceptors into a single coordinated system, we can help boat builders and owners optimise stabilisation for their specific vessel, application, and operating profile.”
The company describes the new system as a future industry standard. With all components provided and supported by Humphree, yacht builders will have a single point of contact for integration and service work.

The new HIG5 gyro from Humphree - more sizes are expected for larger vessels
Humphree’s new gyroscope is the first model in a new product range to be launched, offering increased flexibility and optimisation for boats of different sizes. Designed for high stabilisation performance, the gyro is continuously managed by a dedicated control unit that adjusts the system in real time, making it a central part of the overall stabilisation logic.
The company also provides remote support for all its systems.
