First Pearl 100 Hybrid completes initial sea trials

The first Pearl 100 Hybrid has completed her initial sea trials ahead of her scheduled world debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, which starts on 28 October.

The Pearl 100 Hybrid is the largest Pearl to date and the first from the brand to feature hybrid propulsion. Her twin-shaft E-Motion hybrid system pairs two MAN V12 2,000 hp diesel engines with two radial-flux permanent-magnet electric motors. The installation supports several operating modes, including silent electric cruising and extended range.

This blend of traditional propulsion and electric technology reduces fuel consumption by optimising the use of diesel engines and electric motors. The advanced diesel-electric solution offers multiple operating modes: silent zero-emission cruising, low-speed electric manoeuvring, and powerful diesel performance at sea — reaching speeds of up to 24 knots. Thanks to the E-Motion Power Pack, the Pearl 100 can operate overnight without running generators, significantly reducing noise and emissions.
